Relictor Captain on throne

I have just enough time for a quick, little update on the Relictor captain on throne, feel free to ignore the angle of the head (silly blu tac isn't all that sturdy):

The throne itself will be raised by about the height for a normal base (which is what's used as a prop in the pic), the base will require a ton of work, the throne and techno stuff behind will be coming together soon as well and yes, I'm putting a whopping 3-4 characters on that base!

Not quite sure yet if I'll keep all three of them on there though, but I do rather like the feel of him being surrounded by servants, familiar and advisors. Which is where that old Genestealer Cult magus on the left comes in perfectly, though he will require some converting to make him more Imperial and SM-y. I've also been looking for an opportunity to actually do something with that Inquisitor scribe mini and I may have found the perfect diorama for him as well.

The round base behind them is just there to help with camera focus, the old gal has had its best time I'm afraid. Additionally the left advisor will be angled more towards the left, freeing up about the back quarter of the large round base for throne techno stuff and extensions.

More updates coming later this week, including the wip pics of my Trygon!

Let's hope my necromantic powers are still up to par!

A little while back I was checking out a post by fellow Relictor fan Siph_Horridus on the Weemen blog (excellent stuff all over this blog, I can highly recommend everybody to go and check it out) where he was showing his plans for another thematic objective marker - the excellent dead terminator on throne found in the new Space Hulk set.

The funny thing is that I had also just bought this exact mini on Ebay, which finally arrived today to reveal this awesome mini:

I'm going for a double whammy with this one, as I need both a mini for a painting challenge and another Relictor-themed objective. So there will be quite a bit of filing, sanding and cutting on this excellent sculpt to get rid off all the Blood Angels stuff. And boy, oh boy, does this mini have a lot of Blood Angel iconography:
- 5 chalices
- 69, count them, yes 69 blood drops
- each chalice alone comes with a whopping 9 blood drops on it!

But here comes the real kicker, I want to do some necromancy on this mini and put some life back into his eyes. The plan as off right now is to use the bigger base shown in the picture above (old Carnifex base), make the throne larger and probably a bit taller and do some massive cutting and rebuilding to turn this guy into a living Relictor terminator. Yes, it may be utterly idiotic to sit down on a throne in the middle of the battlefield and wait for your buddies to comes and pick you up.....I'll have to find some kind of fluffy reason for him to be sitting there, but right now I am just interested in this challenge. The really weird ideas have already gone, so no flying pyramid-like thrones this time round I'm afraid.

Time for a boring update

And the madness carries on, time to expand my list to 200 points...and actually build/paint all these guys. So I'm an assault sergeant both a lightning claw and a storm shield and squad on foot. So no jump packs, but a free rhino instead. Probably a waste of points, but I'm rather looking forward to the conversion opportunities. Planning on turning the guy into a mini-chapter champion, armed to the teeth with 'purified' chaos weaponry.

So here's the updated armylist....actual progres will come soon, really.

HQ
- captain (standard gear) + bolter + hellfire rounds = 110 points
- librarian (standard gear) = 100 points

Troops
- 10 tactical marines + flamer + missile launcher = 170 points
- 10 tactical martines + plasma gun + missile launcher = 180 points
- 10 scouts + bolters + heavy bolter = 150 points
- 5 scouts (Eldar corsairs) + camo cloaks + sniper rifles + heavy bolter (or missile launcher, build a mini for both options) = 100 points

Elites
- 6 terminator + chainfist + cyclone launcher = 275 points
- dreadnought + plasma cannon = 115 points
- 6 sternguard veterans + missile launcher + razorback + dozerblade = 200 points

FA
- 8 assault marines + flamer + powerfist = 189 points
- 9 assault marines + rhino + flamer + lightning claw + stormshield = 212 points

HS
- thunderfire cannon = 100 points
- predator + extra armour + HB sponsons = 100 points

TOTAL
- 2001 points
- 69 minis (29 done)
- 4 vehicles (1 done)

And aiming for a nomination in the 'most boring updates of 2009'-section we have a few pictures of some undercoated assault marines and a 'creativity stimulating' beverage.

On the plus side, I'm really getting excited about these guys again. No more damned excuses, it's not like I can't spare 30-45 minutes each day to take 2-3 minis to the next stage right!

Picking up steam again...slowly.

What can I say about the last month+, it has been a hassle all round. Work, uni registration etc, tons of things have been throwing up roadblock. Finally caught up with all the madness so far, so it's time to get back to 40K'ing!

So I cleaned out by desk, re-organized all the unpainted Relictor minis and getting ready to spend some tlc on the poor guys. I'll be starting off with a whopping (for me anyway) 3 units:
- Sternguard Veterans (6 guys - Razorback to follow)
- Terminator Squad (6 - converted starter termies and the free WD mini that got all this madness started again)
- Subjugator Assault Squad (8 - allied, cursed foundings chapter - some shared colours and marking, yet quite distinct in feel and colour)

Manually undercoating the Subjugators right now. I know, time consuming but so much better for the final product. That and I have a tendency to pick bad spray cans, the minis are expensive enough without having to stress about whether or not the undercoat is going to mess them up.

Next up would be the green on the Subjugators, after that things start to spread. All the blue-ish stuff for these units will be handled in a single go. This will give a nice coherent feel to them and should help keep me motivated as I see the full group steadily advancing. Once the shared areas (blue-ish armour and skin) are done, I'll revert back to the 'paint 1 mini at a time'-approach as I slowly work my way through the lott detailing each individual mini.

And to make certain there's some extra eye candy, I have an extra pic of the test Subjugator to finish of this update:

Finished the build on the Vault

And here we go, the finished build on the Vault building for the Mega Terrain Contest This update has been rather overdue, but what can I say real life is a hassle at times:

The walls of the walkway down to the keep's main entrance are still unattached at this point. How else am I ever going to get to that door with a paintbrush right The one thing I regret is that the pics don't show of the textured undercoat of homebrewed to give the foamcoat a similar structure as the GW sprues. That and all the plasticard support struds with punched rivets are tough to spot as well, nothing a paintjob won't cure of course! Something I hope to get started on once I finish my thunderfire cannon and subjugator assault squad.

A ton of stuff has gone into this project, here's a selection of the goodies:
- nearly four complete bastions
- dozens of cut up bulkheads from the cities of death sprues
- 2 full sheets of foamcard (25 x 51 cm)
- a few dozen skulls (resin, skeletons and cut of building sprues)
- a combined amount of about 1 A4 of plasticard of various thickness
- 6 tubes of bison second glue
- a barrel of mini-cocktail sticks (lining up foamcard sections, applying glue etc)
- tons of card and ductape
- various imperial and semi-chaotic bits and bobs
- textured metallic, sticky sheet...uhm stuff. No idea where this is used for normally.
- some etched brass trinkets
- and everything else I've already forgotten about

Next up some detail pics:

And then we of course have the AA and extensions:
- only 2 will be used at the same time, but all configurations have been taken into account
- so 2 lascannons, 2 autocannon turrets and a comms unit (lovely design from GW by the way!)

For the finishing touch we have some Iron Warrior action shots, yes the Relictors were having too much fun in the slightly chaos-looking bar to come over:

Subjugator Assault Marine testpiece

Well I figured it was about time I finished that undercoated assault marine that has been on my desk for 1,5 months now.

I was utterly unhappy with the first attempt on this guy, the Subjugator's all green armour really doesn't fit in too well with my Relictors. Especially since the only green thing with them are helmet lenses, to make matter worse the Relictor armour has tons of contrast with different metals and black areas.

So I left this guy alone for a couple of days and got back on him yesterday, with this result:

By adding some fragments of Relictor-borrowed tech he suddenly does fit in and is a whole lot more interesting to look at. The pic is a bit fuzzy and overlighted, but you get the idea. Rather happy I stayed away from any bright colours like orange or red for the helmet crests, the 'cool' colour feel works well enjoy without unneccesary distractions. I'm thinking I have a winner here, so keep an eye out for more Assault Marines in a week or two!

Update on the Vault

Well work is slowly continuing on the Vault building project. I'm putting the finishing touches on the 3rd level tomorrow and then it's on to the entrance and right tower's two remaining levels. Naturally there are a ton of holes and small things to tackle, but I'm keeping most of that minor stuff of till the entire structure is done:

And a quick detail shot of the entrance into the second tower:

Next update should be online in two to three days!

Reaching for the sky, well kind of anyway

Good evening everybody, time for an update on the building project. As some of you may know I managed to get my hands on two strongpoint boxes two weeks ago. I really couldn't resist, especially with them being two for the price of one! Not quite sure I'd really like the kit all that much, but how could I resist this great deal.

After cleaning all the sprues last weeks (and turning two boxes into a single one), I have to say that the Planetstrike building kits are quite nice. Very pleased GW had the (common) sense to add some texture to the walls and defense segments, that will really help people from all skill levels to turn them into great looking pieces of scenery.

So far I've discovered that if you keep a few things in mind, the Bastion is a sheer joy to put together:
- There are a few corners (especially the ground bunker level) that don't fit together thighly. Luckily this does not influence the structutal integrety as all the parts and surfaces that need glueing line up just fine. So a quick greenstuff fix will take care of those holes.

- Be careful when glueing corners of the higher levels together, things may seem to fit perfectly but that may not line up when you add that last wall segment. Some gentle bending and bashing may be needed.

- It may not be the smartest thing to fully assemble a bastion, this due to the holes in the top level (the grates). If you leave the part you can see through there (on the inside of the bastion) plastic it will look bad when looking into the top bunker. A quick brush with some Chaos Black will fix this and I greatly suspect that I'm one the few people who even noticed this.

- A lott of this stuff also works quite well with Cities of Death sprues, however it will take a bit of trail-and-error as cities of death wall segments don't line up with all bits.

- Cities of death sprues line up perfectly with the higher level bits of the bastion kit. The bunker section, however, is about 1,5 cm lower than the cities of death bits. Which equals a ton of cutting and filing, slowly turning my apartment floor light grey, to make everything work.

- The higher level wall segments are an absolute threat to combine though, this as they are the same height and weight. For the bigger pieces we're talking exact same volume and for the individual wall panels of CoD it works out perfectly if you glue two of them together. Personally I can't wait to see what people will come up with when combining those kits. If forsee some cathedrals and a full blown admech complex on the web somewhere in the not so far future.

Now on the stuff everybody is really interested in, the pictures (click images for bigger version). The Vault / Library at in its current form, apologies for all the clutter. I ran out of space to put stuff as two strongpoint boxes and several CoD sprues take up quite a bit of space:

Right now we're looking at a variant on the Indominatable Fortress:
- Two Bastions
- Left Bastion - 3 automatic weapons
- Right Bastion - 4 automatic weapons and a comms relay
- Bunker/Vault entrance - stairs leading down to the underground storage facility and to the left and right of the corridor raised firing positions. Plan to add a walkway between the both and count it as a single bunker and the official entrance into the Fortress (instead of using the main tower as dictated by GW's suggested rules in Planetstrike).
- Not sure yet on AA guns, both the Lascannon and Autocannon turrets just look so great.

And a quick pic of the back:

Quite pleased with is so far, though there's still tons and tons of stuff to work on before I can even dream about starting to undercoat and paint the rather colossal contraption.

So what do you guys think? And keep an eye out for a new update on tuesday, need to do some work on my thesis tomorrow

Building some terrain.

Put together a modified template for my Astronomican building project. Not quite sure if I'll be sticking with duc tape reinforced cardboard, but I needed to start somewhere:

You'll be seeing several updates over the next weeks, so I hope that by then I'll actually have something worthy of the term building or terrain feature. Initial ideas are still rather sketchy, but version one will be an attempt at something I've conjured forth from my warped mind and have dubbed 'the vault'. And if this works out I'll also have a cool, big building that fits the theme of my latest army project - the Relictors.

The general idea is a hidden base where the boys kept their unholy artifacts after the Inquisition took their previous batch. We're looking at 2 towers based on bastion kits with a home-made vault entrance in front of them. Think semi-daemon gate, with all kind of weird locks and stuff and you'll get the jest. The rest of the building is still very sketchy, but there should be room for a comms extension, as well as a (removable?) rockit silo and maybe even a raised defence or landing platform.

On an utterly unrelated matter I also have a pic of a little something special I got my hands on yesterday. SkekSil, better known as Chamberlain from the classic 1982 The Dark Crystal movie:

Relictor Scouts

So much for frequent updates, really need to have a lengthy chat with my internet provider!

Moving on, time for some Relictors Scouts. Finished these last friday, but I've been wihout a camera for a couple of weeks now. So special thanks to Stefanie for allowing me to borrow hers!

So scouts, one of the kits Black Templars players had been waiting on for a long time. Big fan of the weapons and bodies myself, not so much of the heads though. Scouts may be 'unfinished' marines, but that shouldn't be a reason to given them big, bloated heads. So some quick cutting and bitsbin searching later and we have normal-sized head bearing scouts. Naturally I tried to get as many rebreathers in there as possible, they really scream Relictor for me. Click on the pics for bigger versions:

Got some goodies in the mail today

My order from Total Wargamer came in:

Finally caved in an got me a copy of Apocalypse - Reload. And eventhough it does contain a fair number of sheets GW used to have on their site for free, it makes for some very fun reading. The big battle report in the back is particulary fun. Also got my planetstrike copy, which will plunge me even deeper into this hobby madness.

I've only managed to skim through it tonight, but it's looking quite good. And yes, by that I do mean lotts of shiny pics and lovely background stories. There's even a 4 page spread of some 30+ glorious assaults, with a few of them getting picked out and receiving several pages of coverage a pop. The one thing that is a tad annoying thus far is how often I already saw the sentence 'but we can't possibly legislate......'.

The first time you read it this makes perfect sense; keep things open, leave gamers to use their own, already build stuff in a way that best suits the spirit of this expansion etc. But after 3-4 times it really starts to come across as 'we really couldn't be bother to come up with some better guidelines and direction for fighting with functional buildings'. And while this may not be true, the rules in fact seem quite fun and interesting, it leaves a bit of a weird vibe with me. Surely the test readers must have noticed that this small sentence keeps coming back?

Then a quick looks at the buildings and stuff, both bastions and fortresses make for very cool modeling projects and gaming focal points. I do wonder though how long any defence line will hold up against some railguns, deep striking stormtroopers or the ton of melta bombs which will undoubtably find their way unto the battlefield.

Bunkers, towers and fortresses are great of cours, but it's the other additions that really caught my eye. Take the interceptor gun for example (the big quad gun that comes with the defence line and only shoots at deep striking vehicles and squads), this beauty is a mini building and you get more of them as the number of objectives on the battlefield increases. Like the building-mounted weapons you get to choose between a las and autocannon variant. But here's the catch, you don't have to attach it to a building. I can be used individually, which gives the added advantage that it can be manually aimed by any model in contact, effectively negating the BS 2 you find on normal building weapons.

The skyshields is also an interesting addition, models need to limb through the legs (and roll to see if they don't fall back of) and it has two configurations. The first, shielded, gives a hefty bonus in the shape of an invul save while vehicles may still land and drop of troops. The second, unfurled, gives less protection but is easier to land on even at great speed. So a transport may disembark its troops regardless of how far it moved that turn! So perfect for the defender to get some heavy support in there, turn the shield on next turn and blast away. The defence line finally is just what you'd expect: decent cover save, going to ground bonus and a rule to negate any silly 'cc-base-contact'-issues.

I also got a defence shield set, no idea why really. Just an impulse buy and I have to say I rather like it. As everybody probably knows by now, the actual shields sections are textured making it much easier and enjoyable to paint. And though the two shapes of the defence shield are a tad basic and repetitive I'm certain that with some minor converting anybody can make some fantastic looking scenery from it. In fact two sets of these, some plasticard and a balsa base would make for a nice bunker in Apocalypse, Planetstrike, regular 40K and even Necromunda games. The interceptor gun is, to me at least, a wonderful addition to the kit. I just love the look of those four AA guns, I am particulary interested to see what non-Imperium or Chaos gamers will come up with to represent these. As well as all the other goodies of course. The gun ifself comes with a four-piece mini building, a slotted top, a centre core, two sets of autocannons, 4 muzzle bits, a comms device, optical sensor and gothic skull sensor thingy. The last three aren't mandatory and will make for very nice additions to all kind of guard and (chaos) marine vehicles. In fact I plan to add one of the two extra defence line sensor to a converted razorback:

Well that does it for this update, time for some weekend relaxtion....no wait, have to do university work of course. Ah well, I should at the very least have time to get the leather and metallics done on those scouts. I may even have a little something special to show by the sunday evening, but we'll see.

Wednesday, 22 July 2009

We have some progres.....well a little bit anyway.

God my progres is utter embarassing, but I keep posting up pics regardless. This time we have some 50% done scouts, you might expect more progres during my vacation. But no such luck, I have tons of work left on my master thesis and trying to get in a research program. One day I'll win that jackpot and tell the whole world to go and leave me alone for a few months while I pump out some armies.

But back to the scouts and their minor adjustments. You probably noticed it already, those aren't the standard, fat scout heads. Never liked to heads, so instead I've gone through the bits box and found exactly 10 different bare heads that work with the scout bodies. Half of them also have rebreathers, so the grim Relictor-feel is well represented. With a bit of luck I'll managed to get them done by the end of the week. May have an hour or two tonight, is so the leather areas will get some TLC. Maybe the metallics as well, just maybe or course.....

Finally an update

Had a couple of very, very busy weeks, so mylast update has been quite a while. In addition I loaned my camera to a mate who seems to have lost it in the process of travlling Spain.

But I got my grubby, little hands on a camera today, so it's finally time for another update. With last month's addition I do have a legal army. In addition nearly everything that is left is fully converted and ready for painting. So I have plenty of stuff to do the coming few months.

First up a rather poor pic of the Corsairs (counts as Scout Snipers), I could only borrow the camera for 15 minutes so this is the best I could do on such short notice:
'

There are indeed 2 heavy weapons in there. This as I made a mini to represent a missile launcher and one for the heavy bolter. Gives me some options when playing and allowed for an extra conversion.

And here's a quick pick of the entire army as it stands right now, still quite a bit left to paint. And I also need to build myself a Predator:

Hope to get quite a bit of this done in the next 2 months! Time for a quite look back at the last couple of months:

The hell yeah's

Back to ye olde Relictors, with the somewhat wrong colourscheme. I owe Castus from Astronomican a big thanks for his new starter painting contest many months ago, that Relictor Terminator really drove me back to an army from my glory days of gaming. Naturally taking glory in its broadest sense!

The ah hell no's

Well as the pics above demonstrate rather effectively, I didn't manage to finish the force. Sure I had work and studies to contend with, but I can't help but feel I could and should have done just a little but better. Two elements were at the core of the slow progress (beyond real life stuff):

1. Army theme.
I really went overboard with the initial planning. Two different chapters and 4 xenos mers races, three of which completely new, was just way too over ambitious and uncoherent to work in a single 1800 points army. Eventually I managed to work out most of the oddballs out of the project, though I fell rather sorry letting the Xenalthians and Barghesi go. But I'm certain they'll eventually will resurface in a future project.

2. Planning, planning.
Setting more and realistic deadline, while working at a consistent pace would have really made the difference. Instead I ended up working my behind off in the last weekend of each month. Instead I've taken on a new approach now. I try to get a unit ready for painting and then do a little something on them each and every night. The mere annoyance of the same unit still staring at you after a week is a huge motivation to work at a consistent pace. Eventually I hope to get some kind of daily rhythm going.

The future

I'll be bringing these guys up to the originally planned 1800 points before moving on to any other big project. Still tons of work left, but that's why I'm already taking part in the new monthly painting and modelling challenge (Link). So by the end of the month I'll have the scouts done as well as the Thunderfire Cannon. Particulary looking forward to the latter, although it will be a very challenging mini to paint. And here's a quick pic of the second half of the scout team:

Thunderfire Cannon Update

Well life's been keeping me busy again. So progres is slow, but somewhat steady. Finally finished building the Thunderfire Cannon and crew. These pics are of the 75% done project, more pics coming as soon as my camera has re-charged:

The size of the undercarriage kind of got out of hand as it kept getting bigger and bigger. This naturally resulted in a basing problem, a weapon team base suddenly became far too small. So I went into the bits box and cupboard in the hopes of finding a slightly larger base, but with no luck. Untill I came across my GW static grass tube, its top was just perfect. Though it will become a somewhat bigger and consequently easier to hit target, I gladly sacrifice some tactical advantage in order to make this thing as I had it in mind!

And here's the mechanical servitor, complete with extra servo-arm and portable powersource. Some extra greenstuff has been applied already to fill holes, make the left arm fit better to the shoulder joint and some spare rivits from the armour plates used for the thunderfire cannon chassis have been added to the plasticard pincers of his servo-arm:

In addition I've gotten some new stuff I hope to get done by the end of this month as well: an extra squad of Marines, lead by a cool dual pistol-wielding serg. And a 10 men strong scout squad, cut into two groups of 5. The first group is already done and build (pics coming), while a second box has been ordered from my local store.

Finally I need to get thinking about some scenery as I might end up taking part in a 'huge buildings'-contest over at Astronomican forums. Though I have limited building experience I'd love to give it a try, especially since my last (unfinished) diorama project has given my a ton of ideas for this one.

Thunderfire Cannon Update

Picture time, first up the early work on the thunderfire servitors. These guys will go unto the base the cannon will be mounted on:

Then we have the techmarine, who's getting closer and closer to completion. I was suprised to find so many different servo-like bits in the box. The service harnas (so far) consists of a standard SM backpack, a vox caster bit, an oop Iron Father servo-arm, Iron Warrior Chaos Lord servo-arm and a converted arm from Fabius Bile.

And finally we have a serious over the top conversion wip on the actual cannon. Nothing but the barrel segment so far, not sure what to do with the undercarriage. But more on that tomorrow and tuesday evening.

A change of plan

Alrighty, I'm completely overhauling my armylist. Initially I was planning on including 3-5 different xenos mercs and allies from the Subjugator chapter. An idea which on paper looked amazing, but in reality it is turning into a uncoherent mess of squads. So here's the new armylist, month by month. And as you can see I'm somewhat behind , but I'm working on that right now:

Red
= Unfinished after deadline (yes, I'm embarrased!). Some of these are the result of this armylist overhaul.
Green = Finished in time
Blue = Not done yet, but still before deadline

Januari: 2 troops

A. Tactical Squad
+ 5 marines
+ missile launcher
+ plasma gun (need to replace to old flamer)
= 180 points

B. Eldar Corsairs (count as sniper scouts)
+ sniper rifles
+ camo cloaks
+ heavy bolter OR missile launcher (1 model for each)
= 100 points

Februari: 1 HQ + 1 Troops

C. Captain
+ CCW and bolter
+ hellfire rounds
= 110 points

D. Scout Squad (10)
+ Heavy Bolter OR Missile Launcher (replacement unit, so haven't decided on the weapon yet).
= 150 points

March: 1 ELITE + 1 own choice

E. Dreadnought with plasmacannon
= 115 points

F. Sternguard Squadron (6)
+ Missile Launcher
+ Razorback
+ Dozerblade
= 200 points

April: 1 HS and 1 FA OR 2 FA

G. Predator Tank
+ extra armour
+ heavy bolter sponsons
= 100 points

H. Subjugator Assault Squad (8)
+ flamer
+ powerfist
= 179 points

May: 1 HS and 1 ELITE OR 2 HS

I. Terminator Squad (6)
+ cyclone launcher
+ chainfist
= 285 points

J. Thunderfire Cannon (not the most practical in this army, but I just love the idea of a really big gun and I want to keep my techmarine!)

= 100 points

June:1 TROOPS + 1 own choice
K. Space Marine Squad
+ Storm Bolter
+ Missile Launcher
= 180 points

L. Librarian
= 100 points

Bringing the total to 1799 points!

Techmarine WIP

Time for another unit, a techmarine with servitors this time. Update time, dropping more and more outlandish stuff while adding more Relictors. There's no way of telling where this will go at this point. I do have some early wip on a Relictor techmarine and servitor squad though:

The bits for this guy have come from all over the place; Black Templar robe, Grey Knight halbard, Iron Father servo-arm and one of the new Maxmini heads.

Aiming for something new with the servitors as well, mainly because I don't like the normal ones. So stay tuned for more work on these guys this weekend!

Finally finished some firesupport in the form of dreadnought Invictus, more pics going up tomorrow:

Humble beginnings, welcome to Hephesto's Forge!

Well, it looks like I've fallen to the lure of starting another blog. A minor introduction and describtion of the motivation behind this blog seem in order.

My name is Willem-Jan, though I go around the web using Hephesto or Heph. In addition to my univeristy work studying Psychology and my job as labcoordinator I'm also a long time warhammer fanatic. A couple of years ago I pretty much found myself without gaming buddies and time to put into the hobby. That was until I was persuaded to drift over to the Astronomican forums, a place where I've been lingering ever since. Eventually rising through the ranks to the position of admin. Though the place is a relatively small forum, I do like to thing we do our part in promoting the hobby we all love and spend way too much cash on!

Now why a blog on blogspot you may ask, well there are several reasons. First of I'd like to reach out a bit to more hobbiers than the people I normally interact with on the few forums I visit. Secondly I feel like a blog like this will give me that extra needed bit of motivation to say focused on my gaming projects. And I really do need some extra focus, especially with some many different new things constantly popping up. And finally it just seems like a whole lott of fun to do!

To finish of this first entry I'd like introduce some minis of my latest project - a small Relictor force, partially build from the new starter Marines. Mostly I am just somebody who's in the hobby for the gaming and painting, so this will not be the most competitive army.
And some of the other stuff on the painting table - Terminators, Librarian, Dread and some Subjugator allies:

And there you have it, the first post. In the future you'll (hopefully) be able to see this Relictor force grow, find some Lord of the Rings minis pop up as well same some more Tyranids!
