However, this update concerns something entirely different and could even be considered an ode to insomnia. For about the last decade or so I've been having trouble getting sleep, so far without any serious side-effects. Although my weekends generally involve more sleep than usual, as compensation. Now normally this is nothing more than a nuissance and has led to some frantic reading over the years. You have to do something to pass the time right!
Last night was another rather sleepless night and a combination of inspiration and frustration finally got me working on my FW Trygon. Sure, the original deadline I set myself has passed, but that doesn't mean I don't want and need to finish this awesome miniature.
So here's a quick, and rather overlight picture of how far the Trygon stands right now:
I know he looks rather shiny at the moment, this is partially due to my crummy camera, my poor photography skils and the recent application of a coat of red/brown ink. Still tons and tons of work left of this critter, but I hope to get him sorted before the end of the week. Moving on to preparing the carapace next, so the next update should really see all the elements of this mini come together into a rather scary looking burrower!
If you're using the old inks, he'll be quite shiny. Some sort of a matte varnish when you're done will fix that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice Cons, he's indeed getting a coat of matt varnish when he's all done (save for the slimy bits of course)!
